The origins of the French fry have been traced back to Belgium, where potatoes were being fried in the late 1600s. Today, they are not called Belgian fries, why? This is because during WWI, American soldiers were introduced to fries by the Belgians. The fries were called Les frites (which is French) by the Belgians and so the American soldiers took to calling them French fries. This is why they are called french fries today. But making your own potatoe fry is usually a tedious process. So when pressed for time, you can always turn to these crunchy and tasty fries to deliver a fast but delicious meal.
